Military Matters

Dems as Friends, Who Needs Enemies

I believe that most of the people of Colorado see through moveon.org's empty rhetoric and vile slander. People I talk with on Ft. Carson certainly do. It grates on us military veterans to hear Democrat's thank us for our service. It's a credibility issue. As the sayings go: Once burned, twice shy. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me. Well, us vets have certainly been burned.

We've been watching to see which Democrats would condemn moveon.org's recent insulting add in the New York Times characterizing Gen. Petraeus as a traitor. None of that party's candidates! It's clear to every veteran that the Democrats party-wide have been bought by George Soros and his ilk.

The Democrat leadership has been similarly tolerant of NBC’s William Arkin. Remember his opinion piece in the Washington Post: William M. Arkin on National and Homeland Security, The Troops Also Need to Support the American People. Mr. Arkin called our brave servicemen mercenaries and depicted them as out-of-control war criminals being pampered with obscene amenities. Among other such references to our "duped" soldiers, Mr. Arkin stated: "... the recent NBC report is just an ugly reminder of the price we pay for a mercenary - oops sorry, volunteer - force that thinks it is doing the dirty work."

Closer to home, I witnessed Sen. Ken Gordon’s flippant grilling of a WWII vet and Bastogne survivor in a committee hearing on the Legislature’s Iraq surrender resolution last session. Sen. Gordon displayed his acerbic wit with relish against every veteran who testified.

Democrats, we remember how you treated us towards the end of the Vietnam war and afterwards. We see you characterize us as criminals now, as you did then. Sure, we make mistakes, but we follow the rules of engagement and applicable laws as best we can in very difficult situations against enemies who don’t. You don’t condemn enemy combatants in civilian clothes using innocent civilians as shields. Where is the outcry against Iran for supplying explosively shaped munitions to thugs in Iraq to use against our troops and the civilian population? The silence on this score from the Democrats is deafening!

Democrats, don't thank me for my service. Don't tell me you support the troops, while you slander individual troops from the highest to the lowest ranks. Rather, let me see your appreciation. Defend us against attack at home while we defend you against attack overseas. Let us give you victory, don't hand us another devastating defeat. Work with us, not against us.

Moveon.org Fighting Senate Condemnation

How did moveon.org react to the U.S. Senate condemning their outrageous attack on General Petraeus? You’ll find their fight back campaign at http://pol.moveon.org/fightback/.

Telling visitors “The U.S. Senate just told you to sit down and be quiet.”, moveon.org asks them to sign this petition :

Full petition text
"I will not be quiet, I will fight back, and I will keep speaking out until Congress forces an exit plan for this awful war."

Here’s the facts. You be the judge. This is the vote summary from the Senate’s web site. I think you’ll agree that it is a well deserved reprimand of a political advocacy organization that stepped well out of bounds. You don’t often get majorities this clear.

Is there a connection between the Democrat leadership and moveon.org? Just look at who voted against this amendment.
