Democratic Senators John Morse, Colorado Springs, and Brandon Shaffer, Longmont, were instrumental in successfully blocking Republican Senator Ted Harvey's bill to ban the sale of pornography to kids. In a totally partisan effort, Democrats larded Harvey's bill with costs, then used those costs as an excuse to ax it — a maneuver known around the Capitol as "death by fiscal note." State Censorship and Control of Private and Religious Colleges
Oppose Senate Bill 167
Senate Bill 167 would require all private colleges, bible colleges, and seminaries to receive accreditation by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE). This commission would be given the ability to revoke a private college's authorization if the school fails to meet whatever arbitrary standards imposed by the CCHE. Also, students would be given the right to sue any private college for not meeting any CCHE imposed standard.
This violates constitutional rights to free speech and separation of church and state. Take action to oppose this by going to http://votervoice.net/Core.aspx?AID=723&IssueID=13805&atid=11137&siteid=... and following the link there.
